Jem Juthamat & The Cover Collective French Linen Bedding Interview. How to achieve a minimalist bedroom
Your style is unlike anything I've seen. It’s fresh and minimal whilst being warm and inviting. How would you describe your style and what inspires you?
Thankyou for your kind words. I would describe my style as a mix of vintage, nordic and a little monochromatic. I like to keep my styling simple, white with a lot of light.
I’m inspired by heritage homes, parisian living, mid century furniture and hygge nordic homes.

What style advice can you give our readers if they want to achieve a minimalist bedroom?
I would say keep your colour palette very simple. If possible, choose a few neutral colours. I’d highly advise staying away from too many  patterned items and instead focusing  more on items with texture, such as french linen to help create a space that is both cosy and inviting.

What are your styling essentials and what are a few pieces that you couldn’t live without?
My styling essentials are quality textiles, soft furnishings, wooden accent items, and indoor plants. For my styling, I can’t live without beautiful linen, lots of natural light and texture.

In todays fast paced lifestyle, winding down and getting a good nights sleep is much harder. Do you have a bedtime routine or anything you swear by to ensure you get the rest you need?
I love to listen to Gentle Guitar on my Spotify at night while I get the kids and myself ready for bed and prepare what I have to do for the next day. I also like to sip on either chamomile or peppermint tea, and turn on my essential oil diffuser. I like to use Frankincense and Lavender to induce relaxation. To help me fall asleep, I love using French linen bedding, I also like to fluff and shake my pillows and doona before getting into bed.

What does your average day look like? And what is your favourite thing about interior styling?
My average day starts with getting the kids ready for school, I then work on my business which involves lots of styling, emails, meetings and research until Its time to pick my kids from school. I try and fit in housework and errands before I start preparing dinner. My partner helps around the house and we alternate cooking duties, i find its  important to have some form of daily routine. I like to use the evenings to plan and map out my schedule for the following day, this allows me to stay on top of everything and gives me a sense of clarity. Evenings are great as it gives us beautiful family time which are usually technology free. I like to then read the kids a book, put them to bed, squeeze in a quick workout, shower, skincare routine and  then ease into my bedtime routine.
Styling allows me to enter into a flow state, where I’m absorbed in my work and can tap into my creative mind. I love helping my clients and it gives me great satisfaction when they fall in love with style I create for them. In essence I love making people happy through my styling.

How important is it for you to take time out for yourself? And what are your favourite things to do with your free time?
I like to have a good balance in my life and following a routine definitely helps. As much as I like to be a giver, I often  forget to give to myself. I don’t realise it sometimes until I start to feel overwhelmed or anxious. My favourite thing to do is spending time with the people I love & spending time with friends and family over a meal. Having good company and energy surrounding me is always helpful and inspiring.
I also like listening to music and indulging myself with a pedicure and a manicure.

What’s coming up for you?
I’ll be challenging myself with some exciting projects that will push me past my comfort zone and allow me to share my work with a larger audience.
I’ll be collaborating with some exceptional brands and will step into interior design projects involving some reputable home builders that I admire. I have wonderful followers and I’m so excited at the prospect of bringing them fresh content giving them an insight into the projects I’ll be working on.
